Shelby was a Special Friend to me who lost a valiant battle with Undifferentiated Sarcoma on March 15, 2005. Shelby was a warrior with the heart of a giant. Few people walk this earth with the courage, kindness and determination that she and her family showed us all. Although Shelby was only 13 years old she was wise beyond her years. She was able to influence so many people in a positive manner. Thousands of people flocked to her website to check on her condition daily. Her Courage, Kindness and Determination was felt by all. Shelby showed her unselfish devotion to life and her family and friends on a daily basis. Quite simply she was source of Inspiration, Love and Kindness for us all. Shelby made us all step back and take a look at our own lives and find and grasp what was important. I am honored to have had Shelby and her family touch my life.
Our hearts and prayers go out to Shelby's family in this time of sorrow. God needed a Special Angel and Shelby has answered his call. Her legacy of Courage, Kindness and Love will live in us all for eternity.
